Retina Detachment

The retina is the neural tissue where an image is formed after it passes through the optic system of the eye. We can compare it to the film of camera. This is where the necessary chemical processes happen in order for the neural stimulations to be transported to the brain, via optic channels for analysis and processing. It is a thin semitransparent membrane which covers the inner surface of the eye. It is attached to the choroid and to the sclera.

Diabetic retinopathy

Diabetes can cause complications to many organs of the human body. One of these is the eye, which can be affected in many ways. It can cause temporary blurriness and cataracts. The most serious condition of the eye concerning diabetes is diabetic retinopathy.

Macular degeneration

Macular Degeneration is the largest cause of blindness in people over 50 years old in the western world. One in three who are over 75 suffer from this disease, and world wide approximately 25-30 million are affected by it. It is a disease of the eyes that needs careful and regular monitoring, however many people ignore it and tragically end up blind.

Retina diagnosis

The SPECTRALIS HRA + OCT delivers the ultimate in retinal imaging. Multi-modality imaging offers deep insights into structure, function and metabolic activity of the retina. Unique simultaneous digital fluorescein angiography and Indocyanine Green Angiography images with 3-dimentional resolution improve the diagnosis of retinal and choroidal pathologies.
